KAKU: Ancient Seal PC Review
BINGOBELL is a group of developers and gamers who joined forces because they share a passion for gaming. The creators of the VR game Tales of Glacier have released a new game called KAKU: Ancient Seal. It features enjoyable puzzles and an engaging story.
KAKU: Ancient Seal is a fun open-world game where you can play as a young man in a fantasy Stone Age world. It has action and adventure, with a non-linear gameplay aspect. You’ll be prompted to choose your preferred language when you start the game. The game’s title will be shown on the side of the screen, reflecting your language selection. After choosing your language, you can adjust the brightness settings.
Once you’re done, you’ll be all set and ready to go. To begin, you’ll start a new game and be introduced to Kaku through a captivating animated cinematic. In the cinematic, you meet Kaku, the main character. He is chasing a cute fantasy piglet and being chased by the first boss, King Boar. In the adorable yet slightly tense movie scene, Kaku clumsily chases down an older man. The old man is angry and hurt. He scolds Kaku for not noticing the King Boar chasing our protagonist.
Catching the piglet
During the cutscene, Kaku tries to catch the piglet by throwing his weapon at it to stun it. Kaku dives and grabs his prize, but King Boar charges at him, interrupting the excitement. Kaku is rushing around, trying to dodge obstacles in his way. Suddenly, he accidentally lands on a geyser and gets launched into the air. He loses what he was carrying and lands on an old man.
Old man Geiser
After the flight, Kaku quickly recovers and notices an old man named Geiser. He may appear grumpy, but he’s your guide. However, it would help if you regained his favor before he can guide you.
After receiving a lecture from Geiser, who appears to be older than Kaku, you are responsible for making a peace offering to Geiser. You play as Kaku in this game, and the first quest is a tutorial. It teaches basic combat, gathering, dodging, cooking, and crafting. While you receive a quick tutorial, the game becomes more complex as you delve deeper. The more you explore, the more you will discover. Once you’ve made peace with Gieser, you’ll embark on small quests that will eventually lead you to the Ruins of Saga.
Once, there was a powerful Pon-Pon who fell a long time ago. Your task is to complete his trial to unlock the path to the Floating Isle. It is also where you will encounter the first boss, King Boar.
Meeting with King Boar
The meeting with King Boar damages the containers that held the elemental souls, but now they are free. To restore balance to the lands, you must travel to every continent, find the temples, defeat the trapped spirits, and put them back in their containers.
Kaku: Ancient Seal Gameplay
The combat in Kaku: Ancient Seal is enjoyable. You can unlock new combat mechanics and abilities by using the skill tree. These upgrades can affect your club, shield, and slingshot. However, each weapon has its specific purpose. The club is a melee weapon used to hit enemies. The shield can stun enemies by reducing their poise bar. The slingshot is a long-range weapon with different types of crafted ammo.
Combat has a benefit: your fighting style is determined by what you purchase from the skill tree. One small drawback is that you can’t change direction easily during basic attacks. Dodging works, but when attacking an enemy, Kaku can only slash in one direction instead of being able to turn and slash in the desired direction at the right moment.
Any damage is helpful to survive against all enemies, big or small. When it comes to combat, cooking, upgrades, and crafting, these mechanics are necessary but not easily accessible. You’ll need to find Steles, which are scarce in the Snow Forest, your starting area. You will find Star Altars with four Steles. These Steles allow you to access cooking, upgrades, abilities, and battle mechanics. It is essential when you can fast-travel to a Star Altar.
You’ll need materials to upgrade, cook, or gain new abilities because creating food out of thin air is unrealistic. Upgrades and gaining new skills are similar in this regard. You can start by harvesting plants or minerals to get the materials you need. However, remember that you can also obtain materials by defeating enemy creatures. You can use the Slingshot to reach minerals that are high up or on walls.
Kaku: Ancient Seal Game Music
The game’s music is upbeat and magical, creating a sense of adventure in KAKU: Ancient Seal. It adds to the fun atmosphere and reflects Kaku’s curious and wonder-filled nature. Although it’s not a natural language, the dialogue in KAKU: Ancient Seal adds depth.
The game uses sounds and responses that sound like the language spoken in the Stone Age. The cinematics are so impressive that it feels like you’re watching an animated movie during cutscenes. The game’s attention to detail in movement, character emotions, environments, puzzles, and story makes the game enjoyable. It’s similar to other games in its genre, like Strayed Lights.
Regular Updates
The dialogue is funny and can get serious during battles, but the voice sequences can be interpreted differently. The dialogue and character responses in the subtitles make reading them more enjoyable and add life to the game. One example of an interaction is when you first try to make peace with Gieser. Kaku and Gieser’s interaction reveals that Kaku feels sorry for hurting the old man, while the old man seems to have lost all his patience.
The responses, reactions, and facial expressions add depth to the gameplay and character-building. The developers of KAKU: Ancient Seal are dedicated to the game and regularly send updates to fix issues reported by players. BINGOBELL can also fix the bugs in the game soon. KAKU: Ancient Seal is an entertaining game to play. The developers have put a lot of love into it, and there’s a lot of potential for it to become famous.
Summary
BINGOBELL’s latest game, KAKU: Ancient Seal, is a big hit among gamers; with their previous success, who knows what other exciting projects they will create in the future? This game could open up more opportunities for BINGOBELL to grow and develop.
